I think most of you are familiar with the internet influencers theme of Friday Faves or What I’m Loving. Here’s my version: Monday Vibes is my way of sharing the things I’m reading, learning, buying, using, listening, etc. - the Good Things Good People of my week:) We’re doing it non-influencer style though, no commission links here.
Let’s go!
Reading:
Still Positive: a memoir by Julie Lewis.
An eye opening memoir of an everyday mom that contracted HIV through a blood transfusion during childbirth. She was infected in 1984, a time when the world was terrified of HIV and people who had it. Her journey of fighting to stay alive and having to keep it a secret (for awhile) was hard for me to fathom. Her journey of finally speaking up and speaking out was inspirational.
Watching:
You’re all watching Palm Royale on Apple Tv yes? I am in LOVE with the costumes and the Palm Beach socialites played by a brilliant cast of celebs like Kristen Wiig, Carol Burnett, Laura Dern, and Allison Janney. And what a surprise to see Mindy Cohn from Facts of Life fame (am I dating myself here?)!
Listening:
My podcast library is pretty eclectic. From Functional Nutrition to Smartless and Mel Robbins to Iconic Sonics (#bringbackthesonics). At the moment I am on the edge of my seat waiting for episode 11 to launch from Chalene Johnson: The Rise and Ruin of Rachel and Dave Hollis. If you were ever a fan/follower of Rachel and Dave Hollis this is a good one and probably not what you think it is. This isn’t a bashing or a take down, it’s a play by play of their rise and fall from the perspective of a well known influencer. It’s on Patreon right now which requires a subscription (I’ll most likely cancel mine once I get through the series).
Doing:
Writing. Back at it. But this time I am being challenged and encouraged and inspired by a writing coach! Thank you
(and for the referral) - I haven’t had this much fun writing in a long time!Following (and learning):
With the state of the world being what it is (and about to get worse as we inch closer to elections) I follow 3 people for what I feel is accurate and mostly unbiased news.
Substack:
andInstagram: Jessica Yellin and Sharon Says So
Facebook: Heather Cox Richardson (Letters from an American)
I hope this give you a few things to look forward to and explore! Happy Monday!
xo
Love this list thank you! ☺️
Great lineup.
